Client: O'Neill
The Challenge
To create a classic surf-inspired campaign to celebrate the release of O’Neill’s sustainable eyewear collection, O’Neill Blue.
The Solution
A natural and cool mixed media shoot on Miami’s secluded beaches that embodied the brand’s classic surf vibes and eco ethos.
We scouted out Miami’s hidden beaches to shoot a campaign that was awash with natural light and surrounded by natural beauty. We focused on a vintage surf look for this mixed media shoot, making use of Miami’s classic ocean backdrops, palm trees, rock formations and long grass.
We spent the first part of the day on a tucked away beach, shielded from the hustle and bustle of Miami city by swooping sea grape trees. Here, our resident photographer and bucket hat connoisseur, Matt Stansfield, captured the deep blues and golden sands of the beach to perfectly encapsulate the cool, natural feel of the campaign.
Bringing the energy
Models Alex and Ashley brought the perfect energy to the shoot, playing in and out of the water, climbing trees and jumping between rocks, all captured brilliantly by videographer extraordinaire, Joseph Thompson.
As the sun began to drop, we headed inwards towards Miami city, setting up camp on another secluded beach. This time, our backdrop was the city itself, the Miami skyline sitting in the distance while our model, Ashley, skipped between palm trees and floated on a surfboard.
The final result was a soft, sun-kissed campaign that delivered huge success for the O’Neill brand overall, receiving international acclaim. We can’t wait for the next one.
