Client: Akashinga
The Client
For the past three years, we’ve had the privilege of partnering with non-profit Akashinga, a groundbreaking all-female ranger squad dedicated to safeguarding Africa’s endangered wildlife and wilderness.
Akashinga has spearheaded over 50 conservation initiatives and now manages more than 8.5 million acres of wilderness, saving countless species. Among their remarkable programs is the world’s first all-female, plant-based ranger unit: the Akashinga Rangers – “The Brave Ones.”
The Brief
The Akashinga team approached us with the goal of amplifying awareness and engagement, ensuring their organic social and digital presence was visually stunning, social-first and on brand. This meant not only highlighting the courageous Akashinga Rangers, already celebrated by National Geographic, but spotlighting Akashinga’s community and biodiversity achievements. With a global team and numerous moving parts, the biggest challenge was to excavate their compelling stories off the ground in Zimbabwe and bring them to life in an engaging and cohesive way online.
What We Did
We immersed ourselves in Akashinga’s world by conducting thorough research with the team to understand the conservation landscape in Africa. We studied the competition, audited Akashinga’s digital platforms, and interviewed key stakeholders to craft a robust organic social strategy.
We collaborated with and briefed local videographers and photographers to create dynamic, social-first content, meeting weekly with core team members to pull those epic stories from the field and cleverly repackage them into easy to digest social media content.
Throughout our partnership, we’ve continually produced sleek, engaging content that not only resonates with current social media trends, but aligns with Akashinga’s brand aesthetic. Through managing several lines of communication from Zimbabwe to Australia and the USA, we united the team in one voice and told the many incredible stories of Akashinga online, amplifying their reach by 55% in the first two years.
The Result
Our partnership with Akashinga has been incredibly successful and rewarding. We’ve elevated their organic social media presence with dynamic storytelling and epic social-first content, driven donations, and expanded their reach. More importantly, we’re honoured to support an organisation that tirelessly protects and nurtures Mother Nature.
