What does DE&I Mean to Us?

At OOB, we believe that everyone has the right to be their authentic selves without prejudice or ill treatment. We celebrate uniqueness and we are fully committed to hiring and building a team in a way that is unbiased, fair and equal for all to create a truly inclusive environment.

It’s important to us that our team is as diverse as the world at large to better understand and represent those communities through our work.

Recruitment

We use unbiasify to make the hiring process as fair as possible. From preferred names to pronouns, we make cups of tea, not assumptions.

We write inclusive job descriptions that are free from biased language to encourage more diverse applicants.

We create diverse hiring panels to include a range of different team members in the recruitment and interview processes.

Workplace Culture & Policies

We offer flexible work arrangements to accommodate diverse needs and lifestyles.

We have a shared parental leave policy in place to implement equitable parental leave policies that support all parents, regardless of gender.

We operate an equal pay policy which is regularly reviewed and adjusted to ensure pay equity across all demographics.

Accountability and Reporting

We track and report on DE&I metrics to measure progress and identify areas for improvement.

We provide anonymous ways for employees to report discrimination or bias.

We conduct regular audits of policies and practices to ensure they align with DE&I goals.

Our Values

πŸ’« Do great work with good people

πŸ’« Honesty is the best policy

πŸ’« Doing better means doing different

πŸ’« It’s cool to be kind

Holding Ourselves Accountable

There is always more to learn, more to understand and more to put into practice. Along with key members of our team, we regularly check in with ourselves and our processes from a DE&I standpoint to ensure that we do the things we say we’re going to do, when we’re going to do them. This includes:

Understanding: Considering what’s happening in current affairs and the world at large to see how this affects our team and vulnerable communities; what implications does this have on our work and how we do things?

Inclusivity: From our team to our client roster, we ensure that we work with a diverse array of great people whose values align with ours.

Values: And on that, working with people who put the phrase β€˜do no harm’ into action. You can read our [modern slavery agreement policy] to learn more about this.

Empathy: Our experiences and viewpoints may not always align with those of others, but we encourage our team to step into their shoes to better understand where they’re coming from.

Action: At OOB, we believe in one thing above all – deeds not words. We put things into action and keep moving forward, however incrementally, together. The journey of improving the equality and representation of our team is a permanent one, and we look forward to improving the way in which we do things with every passing year.
